Simulate the geometry of a wiper system to determine the wiped area on the windshield
With CAVA Wiper, the user can simulate the geometry of a wiper system to determine the wiped area on the windshield. Used together with the Field of View feature in CAVA Vision, it is possible to check the percentage of wiped area within the field of view. In addition the tool can calculate and visualize the key parameters important for the quality of the wiping operation.
Assess key quality parameters of the result of the wiping operation:
– Curvature Radius of the blade on the windshield.
– Normal deviation between blade and windshield (attack angle).
– Folding angle and folding distance (rise and fall).
– Sag value (bending of the blade).
The implementation of CAVA at Ford Motor Company started in 2007 and was seamlessly integrated into the global company system of CATIA V5. Today, about 100 CAVA users around the world work with the software for global product management in the US, Brazil, Germany, UK, Turkey, Australia, China and India. It is rolled out in several departments.
